Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.

The Incident

He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Team Form

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
